Tennis Cambodia will host the Asian Tennis Federation’s Administrator Workshop at the Dara Airport Hotel in Phnom Penh from October 15-18. Aside from Dara Airport Hotel, long-time partner ABA Bank, will once again come in to sponsor and support Tennis Cambodia.
The workshop is an annual event which aims to educate administrators on various programmes being offered by the ATF/ITF to develop tennis in their own countries.
As many as 25 member nations will be represented in this gathering of administrators from the ATF-affiliated federations and national associations. During the four-day deliberations, delegates will discuss and finalise several important events to be organised during the 2018 calendar year and involve the nations likely to host them in the planning phase itself.
The formulation of an Asian forum of discussion for development of tennis in the region is also being prepared.
This forum will serve to create awareness among member nations of new changes and help educate the administrators in operational areas of tournament planning and applications with the ITF and ATF – juniors, professionals and seniors, and other events and tournaments as well.
The workshop will also be highly beneficial to all national associations already organising or aspiring to organise Junior Tennis Initiative programmes, coaches’ educational programmes and men’s and women’s professional events in 2018 in their countries.
Tennis Cambodia’s Finance Executive Ek Bunlekhana attended last year’s workshop, which was held in Bangkok. In her presentation, Bunlekhana touched on the history of the Cambodian Federation, growth of the game, tournament structure, player pathway and coach education.
